Present Perfect with Être

The VIP verbs don't want to go with avoir, non, non, non, they're too special. They go with être. There are not many of these cliquey snobby verbs but, wouldn't ya know, they're used all the time in French! 

Then there are the wannabe VIP verbs who can't just waltz in they have to have a special invite - these are the pronominal verbs that use the reflexive pronouns (me, te, se, nous, vous, se). We use these sparingly in English but in French - they're bloomin' everywhere! You know the ones... S'appeler, Se promener, Se lever etc.
